About Us
In 1908, Mr. W.E. Lukens purchased the funeral equipment and supplies of Mr. Billy Carl, one of London’s first undertakers, and founded what would become a long-standing tradition of care and service. His mission was simple—provide families with the best possible support during their time of need. The original location stood where Huntington National Bank now resides, before later moving further south on Main Street.
As the business grew, Mr. Lukens hired Mr. Chester R. Geer, and together they faithfully served the Madison County community. In 1945, they relocated to the current North Main Street location to better accommodate the families they served. After Mr. Lukens’ passing, the firm became the Chester R. Geer Funeral Home, expanding again in 1950 and continuing to offer both funeral and ambulance services. Mr. Geer’s commitment to care laid the foundation for what would become one of London’s most respected funeral homes.
In 1976, Mr. Geer partnered with Charles W. “Bill” Eberle, forming the Geer-Eberle Funeral Home. The two worked closely until Mr. Geer’s passing in 1981, after which Mr. Eberle carried forward the legacy of compassion and service they had built. As time went on, the business evolved—introducing cremation, personalized memorial options, and pre-need planning to meet families’ changing needs. In 2003, Dana Fisher joined as a partner, and the business became Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home & Crematory, now offering both human and pet cremation services. Bill Eberle retired in 2013 and now enjoys life in Florida.
Over the decades, funeral service has changed, and so have the ways families honor their loved ones. From adding on-site cremation to offering international transport, video tributes, and live-streamed services, the funeral home continues to adapt while staying true to its mission—serving every family with care, respect, and sincerity.
Now celebrating
more than a century of dedicated service to Madison County,
Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home & Crematory remains committed to the same heartfelt values that began in 1908—helping families remember, honor, and heal with dignity and compassion.
