BAKER
Rodger I. Baker, 85, of London, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in his home.
Born October 13, 1934 in Range Township, Mt. Sterling, Ohio; he was the son of Rodger B. and L. Winona (Robinson) Baker.
Rodger was a US Army veteran of the Korean Era and the Cold War in Germany where he served as a surveyor and forward observer, which he carried into his professional life as a self-employed surveyor as well as working for the State of Ohio. Rodger also served as the Madison County Veterans Service Officer. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars; as well as belonging to the Ohio Townships and Clerks Association, United Senior Services, International Right of Way Association and Civil Air Patrol Pilot.
Survivors include his wife Carol (Jarrells) Blackburn; sons Eric Matthew Baker (fiancée Jamie Canney), Michael Shane (Susan) Baker; step-children Jaimi Lynn (Brian) Spradlin, Randy (Lorie) Bennett, Jeffrey (Angie) Bennett, Michelle (John) Willey and Kevin Listabarger,; granddaughters Kendra, Paige, Lidia and Mia; sister Sandra Lee (Herman) Haney and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rodger B. and L. Winona Baker; his first wife Bette Jane Baker and sisters Donna Louise Alberson and Lola Marie Cizan.
A private graveside service will be held in Bethel Cemetery, Mt. Sterling with Reverend Gordon Ell officiating. Military honors will follow the service, provided by Madison Memorial Post #105, American Legion.
