Robert "Bob" Ballah Obituary

BALLAH

Robert Alan (Bob) Ballah, 77, of London, Ohio left this world as we know it into the hands of God very unexpectedly Friday, October 1 at 6:30 AM at home with his beloved “Con” along with his fur babies at his side. Born January 16, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Byron Ballah, Sr. and Margaret Ellen Wilcox Ballah. Attended The Plains High School. Married February 28, 1976 to Connie Green and was looking forward to celebrating 46 years together soon. Owner of Ballah Trucking-hauling of machinery and grain, and along with his wife and sister-in-law operated Tri-Green Interstate Equipment and Auction in London, Ohio since 1986. Also known as “Walt” to many.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Boysel, and beloved in-laws Bill and Tootie Green, and close friend Patty Boerger.

Survived by three wonderful children and their spouses… Robbi (Bryan) Huddleston, Brock (Renee) Ballah, and Margee (Mike) Keener all of London; ten grandchildren, Lexi and Kaci Daily, Addi and Mason Huddleston, Jaiden, Hailey, Ella, and Baler (Chippy) Ballah, MJ and Miles Keener; sister-in-law Judy Green with fur baby Ted, brother-in-law Dick (Anita) Green; brother Byron Jr. (Debby) Ballah, sisters Mary Louise (Weez) Ballah, Carol Reynolds, Norma Green; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; beloved fur babies Annie and Rudy (the barking dacshunds) that he absolutely adored. Many felt he was a big, gruff guy, but when they got to know him quickly found out he was a gentle giant with a loving and caring heart that loved people and any chance he had to carry on a conversation. Was proud to say he had been in all 50 states with the exception of Hawaii through his years of being an owner/operator with Ace Doran Trucking. Enjoyed attending farm toy shows and adding to his collection. Attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Lilly Chapel and was a dedicated supporter of Loving Care Hospice and Home Health.

Through his medical challenges over the past years he stayed positive and was able to take care of his yard which he loved to keep perfectly groomed. Known to keep everything he owned “up to snuff,” loved cooking, family gatherings, watching Gunsmoke and still being able to work at the shop.

Family would like to express their appreciation to his wonderful medical team: nurse practitioner Lori Knight with assistant Beth, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mark Gittins, nephrologist Paul Kovack, cardiologists Dr. Bruce Auerbach and Dr. Vinay Chitkara, urologist Adam Weiser, and blood specialist Joel Rice and staff, special friends Dr. Jack and Wendy Starr who were there for him at every step of the way. And a special thank you also to the Madison County Sheriff's Department and the Jefferson Township Fire Department.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church of Lilly Chapel with Pastor Tim Rash, Jr. officiating. Family and friends invited to visitation at THE EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 2:00-8:00 PM, and at the church October 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 8530 Lilly Chapel-Georgesville Road London, Ohio 43140. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Georgesville following service with a gathering of friends next door at The Oak Grove Pavillion where stories, tears, and laughter will be shared.
