Oma May Smith, 85, of London died Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in the London Health and Rehabilitation.
Born July 3, 1936, in Swordscreek, VA, she was a daughter of Charly Jackson and Dora (Richardson) Owens.
Oma had attended the Pentecostal Church of Christ and had worked as a nurse’s aide.
Survivors include her children Ricky (Pam) Smith, Angel Gordon, David (Lana) Smith and Regina (Ira) Gill all of London; 21 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother Herman Owens of London; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Martha Kress and Linda Shoemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Smith, children Linda Sue Smith, Leonard Smith and Vicky Bradshaw; grandson Conrad Smith, granddaughter Analee (Gill) Davidson; siblings Grace Feeley, Flora Whitehead, Charlotte “Sadie” Whitehead, Cleo Owens, Floyd Owens, Grady Owens, Leonard “Blanchard” Owens, Eugene Owens, Howard Owens, Jerry “JD” Owens and Virgil Owens.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 5, 2022, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Pastor Justin Sterrett officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of services Sunday.
