Mary Ellen Ray (Fleming), 83, of West Jefferson, died Friday, October 2, 2020 in her residence.

Born August 8, 1937 in Franklin County; she was a daughter of Andrew and Mary (Schaff) Fleming.

An avid bingo player, Mary had worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell before she worked for and retired from Mount Carmel Medical Center for 30 years.

Survivors include her son Kevin Ray of West Jefferson; step-children Jerry Ray, Jack (Pam) Ray, Tom (Rita) Ray, Brenda Peoples and Sharon Reynolds all of London; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, step brother Daniel (JoAnn) Schaff of Sunbury, several nieces and nephews; sisters in law Janice Cupp and Sharon Fleming, brother in law Buddy Livingston and special friends Carol McNabb and Jo Anne Grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack C. Ray, daughter Joy Lynn Boldman, grandsons Daniel Boldman and Jack “Bug” Ray, daughter in law Beverly Ray, sisters Virginia “Jinks", Catherine “Kate” and brother Patrick.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM until time of service.
