ARTIS
Josephine “Sis” Artis, 87, of London died Sunday, February 27, 2022.
Born September 5, 1934, in Columbus, she was a daughter of Arzella (Wilson) and Clarence Cooper, Sr.
A member and Spiritual Mother of the Bethesda Apostolic Church of Urbana; she was an avid bowler, loved softball and dancing and was active with Madison County Relay for Life.
Survivors include her children Connie Whitelow, Lynn (Marshall) Allen, Wilfred “Bunk” (Angie) Artis, Jr. and Troy (Jennifer) Artis; 14 grandchildren, a host of great and great-great grandchildren; brothers and sister Raymond (Sandy) Cooper, Clarence Cooper, Jr., Larry (Cheryl) Cooper and Renee Willis; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Melvin (Linda) (Artis) Armstrong and sisters-in-law: Barbara Cooper, Flora Artis and Juanita Artis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilfred “Bunk” Artis, Sr. and siblings Curtis Cooper, Bobby Cooper, Dean Cooper, Elizabeth Jackson, Deloris Frye, Vivian Price and Rozella Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, March 3, 2022, in the Fountain of Truth Ministries, 135 Maple St., London, with Bishop Gregory Irvin and Pastor Tyrone Artis officiating. Interment will follow in Deercreek Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11 Am until time of services.
