HAMILTON
John Scott Hamilton, 58 of Mount Sterling, went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on December 13, 1962 in Portsmouth, Ohio. John grew up with his two sisters, Rondha Krack of Mount Sterling and Candy Stevens of Louisa, Kentucky. John was destined for greatness with his large heart, handsome smile, lasting endurance, and sarcastic personality.
He loved watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, going fishing, and being a father figure. He had been a volunteer firefighter for Central Township Fire Department. For many years you could find him working with the youth and driving a church van for Newport CCCU. It was here he found many children whom he loved as his own.
Scott, as he was known by those who loved him most, retired from Principal Truck Supply in 2014 after being diagnosed with a lung disease. Scott received the first Lung and Kidney transplant ever performed by OSU doctors on April 30, 2016.
However, Scott’s greatest accomplishments were what he did at home. Scott married the love of his life, Teri Miller-Hamilton on July 30, 1988. He was a loving father to his daughter, the late Nichole “Nicki” Amber Gigliotti and Son Tyler Scott (Bonnie) Hamilton. His favorite title was being called Papaw Scott by Izzy Leah, Isaiah John, Alexzander Michael, Sebastian Tyler, and Zaiden David Scott.
Other survivors include Father-in-Law Butch Miller (Marie Powers), Brother-in-Law Mark Miller, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and four legged child Miss Kitty. In addition to his daughter Nicki, he is proceeded in death by his Father Ronald Hamilton, Mother Shangri-la Marcum, Stepmother Marlyn Hamilton, Mother-in-Law Donna Miller, and many other loved ones.
Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London from 3-5 PM Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Funerals services will begin at 5 PM. Interment will be held at a later date in Range Township Cemetery, Sedalia.
