MOREHART
Jerry Lee Morehart, 79, of London, died Monday, September 18, 2023, in his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 28, 1944, in Madison County, he was a son of James Earl Morehart and Lena (Terry) Morehart.
Jerry learned the value of hard work at a young age while growing up on his family’s dairy farm. He became interested in raising sheep while in the 4H program in Madison County, and began breeding and showing his herd, winning many awards for his market lambs and wool harvest. Jerry then served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. After his time in the service, he worked professionally in the trucking industry. When he retired, he went on to his favorite job of being full time “Pap” to his four grandchildren. He also collected antique Farmall and Massey Harris farm equipment and was a member of the Miami Valley Steam Threshers Association since 1975. In addition, Jerry loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, befriending them after a single talk. His love for life and his family were unmatched and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by two children Todd (Kathy) Morehart and Angela (Quinton Beyer) Morehart; grandchildren Rheanna Morehart, Colton Morehart, Micah Anderson, Lily Beyer; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law Gladys Carpenter; sisters-in-law Karen (Randy) Bobo Williams and Miriam Morehart; brothers-in-law Tom Bobo and James (Cathy) Carpenter; Life-long friend and coffee buddy, Paul “Crow” Hart and his Burger King Crew; Friend and neighbor, Duane Corson; Friend Sharon Manion, and many other long-time London area friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Diana in 2021, brothers James Morehart and Larry (Donna) Morehart.
