James "Jimmy" C. Lewis

            James “Jimmy” C. Lewis, 80 years old, of London, formerly of Orient, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in the Bluebird Retirement Community, London.

            Born in Hamilton, Ohio, on March 20, 1944, he was a son of James M. Lewis and Marjorie C. (Crites) Lewis.

            Jimmy was a 1962 graduate of Fairfield High School. He went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University and later the Ohio State University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in education. Jimmy then served his country with the United States Army as a first lieutenant where he dedicated seventeen years of service during the Vietnam Era. Following his time in the service he became a manager for the Ryder Truck Brand in New Orleans and later for Johnson and Johnson in Michigan.

            He is survived by his brother Richard C. (Sally) Lewis of Orient; many nieces and nephews; daughter Angel (Dave) Hill of Baton Rouge; grandchildren Hunter and Brooke. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.

            A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, beginning at 1:30 PM in Beckett Cemetery, Count Road 140, Orient, Ohio 43146 with Mr. Eric Schooley officiating.
