             Mary Helen Dhume, 88, of London died Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Villa Springfield.

            Born September 9, 1931 in Ashville, Ohio; she was a daughter of Lester and Hazel Emeline (Ridenour) Bethel.

            Helen was a 1949 graduate of London High School. She had worked for the former Carter’s Grocery and Beneficial Finance in London and retired from Capitol Manufacturing in West Jefferson. She had been a member of the former Somerford United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women’s Club.

The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care that Mom received at Bluebird Retirement Community where she has been a resident the past 5 years.

Survivors include her children David (Jo Ann) Dhume, Marvene Ball and Rodney Dhume; grandchildren Bryan (Kelly) Dhume, Erin Dhume (Matthew Rado), Jon (Denise) Ball and Amy (Scott) Holt; great grandchildren Richard, Connor and Cohen; brother Walter “Bud” (Betty) Bethel, sisters Carole (John) Shaffer, Pamela Bethel and Joyce (Jim) Whipp; many nieces and nephews; sister in law Bonnie Dhume and brother in law Jim Burnish.

            She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Dhume and sisters Arlene Ferryman and Linda Burnish.

            A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Somerford Township Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Stuntz officiating. Visitation will not be observed.

            The family suggests memorials in Helen’s name be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
