BAIRD
The man, the myth, the legend… Gary Edward “Bigfoot” Baird. Gary, 73, of South Solon, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, in his residence.
Born July 11, 1950, in Madison County, he was a son of John Leslie and Lillie (Lindsey) Baird.
Gary was the living embodiment of “don’t take life too seriously”. He loved ferociously and lived to make those around him feel loved and happy. If you needed him, he would be there in a second… usually on his Harley, no questions asked. He knew no strangers and enjoyed spending his time with his family and the Relentless Saintz Motorcycle Club. When he wasn’t cracking jokes with friends you would almost always find him working on his motorcycles, rebuilding an old car, or fishing.
Gary was larger than life. There is no doubt that he has continued the party in Heaven reuniting with many loved ones including his parents, wife Tonda, brothers Larry Baird, Sr. and John Baird, sister Leona Newman, and nephew Larry Baird, Jr. He will be missed greatly on this side but know he wouldn’t want sadness but rather joy in all of the memories that were made and shared with him.
Survivors include his children Gary (Katrina) Baird, Jr., Chad Baird, Jonathan Baird, and Jennifer (Shawn) Erskine; grandchildren Brandon, Connor, Miranda, Jacob, Jesse, Katie, Brandon, Jade, McKenzie, Shelby, Lillie, and Leiland; five great-grandchildren; in-laws Leah Baird and Walter Newman; nieces and nephews, including niece Toni (Baird) McDaniel who he shared a special bond.
Visitation will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home, 103 N. Main Street, London.
Memorial contributions for Gary may be sent to the funeral home for the benevolence of the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
