SCALES
Elza “Ernie” Ernest Scales was born in London, Ohio on January 20, 1949 and died in his residence in Galloway, Ohio on January 17, 2020.
Ernie served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in April 1973. Although he dropped out of school at an early age, Ernie was proud of the fact that he returned to school as an adult learner and earned his High School Diploma from Clarmont High School in May of 1991 at 42 years of age. Ernie was a hard worker and acquired yearly recognition for perfect attendance throughout his work career with various manufacturing companies. Ernie ultimately retired from Schenker Logistics Inc (aka Kraft Foods) in 2015 and spent a lot of time on his front porch socializing with his neighbors (Jewel and Joanne) and discussing recent presidential issues. Ernie also enjoyed watching sermons with Joel Osteen (particularly the opening jokes) and his beloved Western movies on television.
Preceded in death by his father Albert Franklin Scales; mother Anna Mae (Herman) Scales; siblings John “Bug” Scales, Virginia “Gin” Davis, Helen “Tubbi” Johns, Albert “Tootie” Scales and Doris Favorito.
