BOWER
Diane Bower, 63, formerly of London, of Tennessee; died Thursday, July 2, 2020 in Knoxville.
Born May 18, 1957 in Columbus; she was a daughter of Leo and Althea (Pitts) Whited.
Diane had served on Mt. Sterling Village Council from 1998-2005, where she was very active on the Good Old Days Festival Committee. She started her career working for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, then went to work for Nichols, Stonecipher & Flax Law Firm in London, before moving to TN, where she worked for Justice, Noel and Burks Law Firm.
Survivors include her husband Ed Bower; children Charles “Chuck” Bower (Tonya DeBold), Benita Yocum (Frank Rhoades), Cortney (Lance) Darling and Brittney Southard; grandchildren Chaz Bower, Lyandin Bower, Craig Haynes, Trace, Andrew and Bradley Yocum, Jaxon Darling and Diana Ullery; brothers and sisters Karen Hammons, Randy (Jane) Crace, Cathy (John) Hall, Toni (Tom) Daniels and Jeff Whited; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members including Jillian Bower, Samantha Southard, Toni Southard and Tara Russell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mike Whited, sister Amanda Whited, brother in law Kenny Hammons and her favorite four-legged friend Chewbacca.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Pastor Gaye Gossard officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Tuesday.
The family suggests memorials in Diane’s name be sent to either the American Cancer Society or the Madison County Humane Society.
