SWANEY
David O. Swaney, Capt., USMC (Ret.), took his last flight on September 25, 2020 at the age of 82.
Born December 22, 1937 in London, he was a son to Samuel Bertram and Annabelle Lois (Ohlen) Swaney.
David served a career in the Marine Corps where he retired as a marine naval aviator. He was a member to several organizations including Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Moose Lodge, American Legion, VFW, and the Marine Corps Aviation Association. David also was the founder and president for his family business Chevron Pool Company of West Jefferson and Grove City, which continues to remain family owned and operated today.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Jane (Bryant) Swaney; children Deborah Swaney of Hollywood, FL, David (Tina) Swaney of London, William Swaney of Pensacola, FL, Karen Swaney of Grove City, Mary (Tom) Williamson of Columbus, and John (Cinnamon) Swaney of West Jefferson; grandchildren Albert, Colane, Alex, J.D., David, Mitchell, Kate, Merideth, Bryan, Seana, Jeffery, Lacey, Thomas, Austin, and Lexi; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Bob and Roger Swaney.
Services will be held in Barrancas National Cemetery at Pensacola Naval Air Station at a later date.
