Charles Maynard, Jr.

MAYNARD

            Charles Maynard, Jr., 85, of West Jefferson, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2022, in London Health and Rehabilitation.

            Born July 11, 1937, in Holden, West Virginia, he was a son of Charles and Phoebe (Sutherland) Maynard, Sr.  

            A proud member of the First Baptist Church of West Jefferson, he retired from McDonald-Douglass/Rockwell and was a member of The Holden 22 Coal Camp Community.

            Survivors include his wife of 62 years Alta (Phelps) Maynard, son Derrick (Ronda) Maynard, daughter Pamela (David) Cunningham; grandchildren Dusten (Kelby) Maynard, Joshua (Lauren) Maynard, Bethanny (Kevin) Chaney, Rachel (Josh) Willis and Darren (Hannah) Maynard; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, son Charles Desmond Maynard, three brothers and two sisters.

            Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Pastor Dusten Maynard officiating. Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM until time of services Wednesday.

            The family suggests memorials in Charles’ name be made to Loving Care Hospice, 789 London Avenue, Marysville, Ohio 43040.
