POINDEXTER
Beverly “Bev” Anne Poindexter, 84, of Bellefontaine, died Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Mary Rutan Hospital.
Born October 20, 1939, in London, she was a daughter of Ernest Lowery and Geneva (Lane) Lowery.
Beverly spent her career working for the Ohio Department of Transportation where she retired as the computer supervisor. In addition, she retired from National City Bank and from the Metropolitan Housing Authority in 2018. She was a hard worker, devoted wife, and extremely loving mother and grandmother. Bev was loved by many and a friend to all. She was a woman of very strong faith who loved going to church as well as spending time with her church family. She formerly belonged to St. Paul AME of London and was a current member of Christ Our King Church in Bellefontaine.
She leaves behind her adoring husband of 64 years Edward Poindexter; daughter Tracey (Lionel) Mitchell; grandchildren Michael Dolby, Edward Poindexter III, Bre’Ann Poindexter, Eric (Aimee) Mitchell, Seth Mitchell, Taylor Mitchell, Logan (Molly) Mitchell, Caleb (Mikaela) Mitchell, Madison Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell, Enya Mitchell; several great-grandchildren; brother Phillip (Alice) Lowery; numerous nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law Kathleen Poindexter; many dear friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; son Edward L. Poindexter, Jr; brothers William “Bill” Lowery, Donald Lowery, Norman Lowery, and Richard Lowery; sisters Vivian Sinkford and Mary Peterson.
The family invites friends to visitation on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM in the Christ Our King Church, 1325 County Road 9, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311 with Pastor Robin E. Ricks officiating. Private interment in Kirkwood Cemetery, London, will be held at the convenience of the family.
