VON ALMEN Wilmadine "Dean" Howard Von Almen born October 4, 1928 and passed on May 2, 2018. Parents were Walter L. Howard and Jeanette (Sampson) Howard. Survived by son, Roy Von Almen, Jr (Sharon), sister Ruth Howard, grandchildren Roy (Elia) Von Almen III, Denise (Scott) Simmons, Jennifer (Jason) Sauer, Stephanie Milbery, Traci (Darren) Debo, Bethanie (Andy) Gossard, Konnie (Robby) Woods and Doug Dendinger; 8 great-grandchildren, special niece Cheryl Culp, former daughter-in-law Linda Mast and many nieces and nephews. Dean graduated from Canton McKinley High in 1946, married Roy Von Almen in 1947 and they enjoyed 55 wonderful years together. Dean retired from Canton City Schools in 1984 after 31 years as a secretary. She was a member of the 20th Century Club, Happy Hour Needle Club and Madison County Senior Center in London where she enjoyed time with her euchre friends. Dean was preceded in death by her husband Roy, sister Evelyn Dixson, brother Jack Howard and special friend Don Hilliard. Memorials may be sent to River of Life Worship Center or London Baptist Church, both in London Ohio. Dean was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who loved to go out to eat and play cards. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Tuesday, May 8, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London with Pastor Gaye Gossard officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 PM Tuesday. Graveside services will be at 2 PM Thursday in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, 5001 Everhard Road NW, Canton.
