HILLMAN
William Howard Hillman, age 76, of London, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at home.
Born on September 20, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, he was a son of Floyd Burt Hillman Jr. and Elizabeth (Murray) Hillman. A lifelong resident of London, Bill graduated from London High School before continuing his education at Clark State Community College. A proud veteran, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972 during the Vietnam War.
On January 29, 1978, in the middle of the historic blizzard, he married the love of his life, Debra (Dixon) Hillman. Together, they built a life defined by commitment, warmth, and enduring companionship for almost 46 years until her passing in December of 2024.
Bill spent his career in the printing industry, beginning as a printer for The Madison Press. He later worked for the Ohio State University and eventually retired from Bindery & Specialty in Plain City, Ohio
Outside of work, his absolute pride and joy was fishing. Countless memories were made on annual family vacations up to Lake Erie, where he was happiest with a rod in hand. He had a fondness for drawing and enjoyed art, but was also an avid sports fan who rarely missed a football game. Above all teams, he faithfully rooted for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
Left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jamie Fike; grandchildren Hannah (Hayden) Vasey, Xavier Minor, and Alicia Minor; great-grandchildren Xayden Minor and Daisy Vasey; siblings: Ruth (Marland) Ellis, Scott (Beth) Hillman, and Suzanne “Sue” (Mario) Silva; a host of nieces and nephews; very dear friend Kenny Bill Hollingsworth; his four-legged companion Norman.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Jr. and Elizabeth; beloved wife Debra Hillman; son Benjamin Hillman; brothers Floyd “Burt” Hillman III and Matthew Hillman; mother and father-in-law Louella and Jack Dixon; brother-in-law Jack “JD” Dixon Jr.
Cremation will take place in accordance with Bill’s wishes. A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
In memory of Bill, memorials may be sent to benefit either the Madison County Humane Society, 2020 State Route 142 NE, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162, or to benefit the London Visual Arts Guild, P.O. Box 362, London, Ohio 43140.
