FENDER

William Grant Fender Jr. (Bill), age 73 of London, Ohio passed away peacefully September 15th, 2024, at his home in Summerville, South Carolina. His wife, Marla, was by his side. The two had recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on September 8th.

Bill was born August 18th, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio to Ruth and William Fender Sr. At age 18, Bill bravely volunteered and served in the Vietnam War as a crew chief for the Air Force.

He married his wife Marla Isaacs at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and they settled in Madison County, Ohio to begin their family. They later moved to Greenback, Tennessee where they raised their two sons, Andrew and Danny. Bill worked for the State of Ohio Department of Taxation for many years before retiring and working part-time at Walmart where he was a favorite amongst coworkers. During his last few years, he relocated to Summerville, South Carolina to be closer to his eldest son Andrew, and his two grandkids. Bill was known for his humor, gentleness, support, sweet tooth, and ability to have a good time no matter the circumstances.

Bill was a loving father, husband, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Marla Fender; three sons, Andrew (Amber) Fender, Danny Fender (Adam Crawford), and Matthew Jenks; one brother, David (Tammy) Fender; one sister, Mary (Leonard) Hoerneman; grandchildren, Grant, Noah, Avery, and Emily. He is preceded in death by his parents William Grant Sr., Ruth, and his sister Martha (Robert) Foster. Bill will be buried in Range Township Cemetery in the Fender Family plot followed by a private celebration of life with family and friends. Thank you to the London High School Class of 1969 for donating to The Kidney Foundation in Bill's honor. "All about the love".
