WILLIAM GEORGE COX May3, 1926 - October 1, 2017 William G. Cox was born in London, Ohio on May 3, 1926 to William and Rose Cox.He was educated in the public schools of London, Ohio.He served in the United States Army in WWII.He retired from State of Illinois, where he lived until recently moving back to London.Bill had a great passion for golf.He spent a lot of time on golf courses especially after he retired.He was preceded in death by his father, William Cox, mother Rose Cox, 1 daughter Diane Winters (Des Moines, Iowa), 2 sisters Marvine Miller and Rosemary Cox and one nephew Jeffrey Cox all of London.He is survived by one brother Frank Cox (London, Ohio); 2 grandchildren Orlando Winters and Yolanda Williams; six great grandkids Lucille Winters, Josephine Winters, Alexander Winters, Antonio Williams, Olivia Williams and Carolos Williams all from Des Moines, Iowa.He is also survived by a special niece Jackie Schook; nephews Chris Cox, Mark Cox, Dwight Cox all of London, Ohio and Dan Polley of Shorewood Illinois.He also leaves behind very close friends who will miss him dearly.Cremation services and arrangements have been entrusted to THE EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY of London, Ohio. A memorial gathering will be held October 18, 2017 from 1-3 PM at St. Paul AME Methodist Church, London, Ohio.
