Wendell Earl Hurley, age 84 of London, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, leaving a legacy of faith, service and love.
Born July 22, 1941, in Xenia, he was a son of Delbert and Wilma (Holton) Hurley. A proud Navy veteran, he served his country with honor before devoting his life to ministry. He served faithfully as a minister of the London Church of Christ for 40 years, dedicating his life to preaching the gospel, guiding his congregation, and caring deeply for those he served. His ministry touched countless lives and left a lasting spiritual legacy in the church and his community.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Wendell found his greatest joy in time spent with those he loved. He will be remembered fondly for his steady faith, kind heart, and unwavering commitment to both God and family. His life was a blessing, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Sandra (Koogler) Hurley; sons Curtis (Dawn) Hurley and Kent Hurley, daughter Kimberly (Ben) Adams; daughter-in-law Pam Hurley ; grandchildren: Olivia (Seth) Frentsos, Heather Hurley-Erwin, Nathaniel (Emily) Hurley, Kaylee (Eric) Parsons, Manuel Hurley, Kelsey (Jordan) Mayle, Cheyenne (Matthew) Sowers, Corrie (Jamie) Payton, Clay Hurley, and McKenna Adams (John Long); great-grandchildren: Eamonn, Sybbie, Jovie, and Llewyn Frentsos, Luke Erwin, Ella Mayle, Lincoln Sowers; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Delbert and Wilma, siblings Phyllis D’Amato and Hugh Hurley, and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services and interment in Beavercreek Township Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial visitation for family and friends will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM in the London Church of Christ, 5 Westmoor Drive, London, Ohio 43140, followed by a heartfelt memorial service to honor Wendell’s life beginning at 3:00 PM.
