Obituary

SNYDER Wayne R. Snyder, 90 of London died Sunday, February 19, 2017 in London. Born September 20, 1926 in Madison County, he was a son of Lowell and Jennie (Warner) Snyder.Wayne was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a lifelong farmer and horseman. A 1944 graduate of London High School, he had belonged to Madison County Farm Bureau, Madison County Fish and Game, the Pork Producers, Madison County Sheep Improvement (and associated with numerous behind the scenes community activities.) A big OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan, Wayne never met a stranger and was well loved by all who had the opportunity to know him.Survivors are his daughters Hope E.S. Phinney, Carol L.S. (Greg) Beathard and Mary R.S. Gilkerson all of London; grandchildren Melissa Beathard, Laura (Kyle) Rohde, Stephen (USMC) and Zachary Hopkins; cousins Debbie (Anderson) Burdorf and Jeff Hendley; sisters in law Betsy Keyes, Lynn Davisson and Rita Anderson; brothers in law Jim (Peggy) Cushman and Chuck Wibright; many nieces and nephews; special friends Martin Wilson, Roger Wilson, Dave Manning, the Adelsberger Family, Shirlie Gorman, Chuck Carson, Roger Webb, Terrill Hay, Marilyn Wemple, Walter Lanigan and Milt Boerger and the card playing club from the Fish and Game. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanne (Cushman) Snyder and sister Elaine Snyder; sisters in law Ruth Wibright, Gertie Leach; brothers in law Mark and John Cushman and Rick Anderson; dear friends Bob Murry, C. Robert Wilson, Clint Hutson, Ernie Baker, Harold Blain, Chuck Blair, Bernard "Whitey" Garrett, George Rowe, Harry Dillion, Charlie Sexton and Ned Speasmaker.The family wishes to thank the staff of Sisters on Elm and Loving Care Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Trinity Episcopal Church, 10 E. 4th St, London with Father Frank Edmands and Father George Glazier officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Wayne's memory to either Trinity Episcopal Church, Loving Care Hospice or Sisters on Elm..
