BRUMFIELD

Vance E. Brumfield, age 91, of London, formerly of Springfield, passed peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, in the Bluebird Retirement Community. Born March 9, 1934, in Gallia County, he was a son of Vance Brumfield and Juhl (Burnett) Brumfield.

Vance was a math teacher for London City Schools, serving a 30-year career doing what he loved most, teaching others. He retired in 1984. A devoted Christian, Vance was a member of the Northridge United Methodist Church of Springfield.

Survivors include his daughter: Julia A. (Paul) Hillard; grandson Jason M. Brumfield; sister-in-law Carolyn Halley and her children Melissa Dawn and Heath Allen; very dear friends Paul and Donna Sidner, Buck and Cathy Coldrion, in addition to countless other friends he held dear.

Vance was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Janice A. (Sanders) Brumfield, son Michael W. Brumfield, and brother-in-law Brent Halley.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM in Deercreek Township Cemetery, 1255 US 40 SE, London, Ohio 43140.
