IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tyrone E.
Artis
November 23, 1960 – July 19, 2024
ARTIS
Tyrone E. Artis, 63, of London, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, July 19, 2024, in his residence.
Born November 23, 1960, in Columbus, he was a son of Alfred E. Wilson and Eunice Artis.
Tyrone worked a variety of jobs including the Armory, Madison County Hospital, EBY Brown, Kroger, London Florist, and BST before becoming a Pastor for Fountain of Truth Ministries.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years Cheryl A. (Smouse) Artis; children Michael (Alisha) Artis, Anthony (Sherri) Artis, Elisa (Dan) Singer and Megan Artis; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren with one on the way; sisters Shelli (Shawn) Norris, Tanya Tyree, Chandra Wilson; brothers Keith (Yolanda) Wilson and Vance Wilson; brother-in-law Doug Jackson; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Dwayne Artis, Alfred "Cubby" Wilson, Jr. and Nancy I. Jackson.
Tyrone was a father, friend, mentor and teacher. A man with a heart like Christ, Ty's first love was and always will be Jesus Christ, the head of his life. He loved and treasured his wife Cheryl, all his children and family. Tyrone spent most of his adult life teaching the Gospel, which led him to begin pastoring at Fountain of Truth Ministries in London, Ohio. His church family and the community always held a special place in his heart.
In his free time, Ty enjoyed the gentleman's game of golf, watching Ohio State Football and participating in any gathering of friends and family. A self-taught handyman, who, if he didn't know how to do something would figure it out. Tyrone was a man of dignity. A symbol of what it means to be a man of God, a husband, a father, and a friend.
"They don't make them like that anymore."
A funeral service commemorating Tyrone's life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 27, 2024, in The Fountain of Truth Ministries with Evangelist Karen Phillips officiating. Friends may call at the church from 12 noon until time of services.
Memorials in Ty's name may be made to Fountain of Truth Ministries, 135 Maple Street, London, Ohio 43140.
The family is being served by the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London, where online condolences for the family may be sent to www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
