THOMAS

Troy C. Thomas, age 53, of London, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, in his residence, following a difficult battle with melanoma.

Born on July 2, 1973, in Westerville, Ohio, Troy was a son of Kent Thomas and Lynda (Long) Thomas. A true jack-of-all-trades, Troy spent his life working various jobs as a general laborer. He was never afraid of hard work and loved hands-on labor, especially during his time working as a mechanic for Goodyear, which was always one of his favorite jobs.

Above everything else, he was an amazing dad and papaw. His family meant the world to him, and he took immense pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow. He loved days taking his sons out on the golf course and always held a special place in his heart for his daughter. Troy was a die-hard fan of both the Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers football. Game days spent with family were always a highlight for him.

Troy was happiest when he was outdoors. Whether he was hunting, four-wheeling, or just enjoying nature, being outside was where he felt most at home. He had a deep love for all kinds of animals and cared for several dogs and cats over the years. Troy also enjoyed playing the harmonica and sitting on his front porch where he could take in the fresh air.

Known to everyone he met as a laid-back, genuine, and truly good man, he left a lasting mark of warmth on every life he touched.

Left to continue his legacy include his children: Trent (Cassidy) Thomas and their child, Sunny Thomas; Sierra (Brandon Chaffin) Thomas, and their child Harper Chaffin; Shane (Cali) Thomas, and their children Oaklynn and Genesis Thomas; and Tyler (Alexa) Hodge and their child Paisleigh Hodge. He is also survived by his brother Trevor Thomas; his life partner Patty Devinney; several nieces and nephews from the Hodge family; numerous extended family and friends.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents Kent and Lynda; maternal grandparents Robert and Margaret Long, paternal grandparents Albert and Kentha Thomas; brother Brett Thomas; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2026, beginning at 3:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, with Deacon Dan Hann officiating. A time of gathering will follow the service until 5:30 PM.
