Obituary

NAGEL

With heavy hearts, we remember a remarkable woman, Tricia Anne “Trish” Nagel, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Trish was a force of independence, grit, and love whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She lived her life on her own terms, proudly independent and endlessly capable. For many years, she built a career in auctioneering and became excellent at sourcing items as a broker, where her sharp eye, quick wit, and natural charisma shone brightest. It was often said she could sell anything to anyone – and she usually did. Her talent wasn’t just in the sale, but in the stories, connections, and trust she built along the way.

Beyond her work, Trish found peace and joy in the natural world. Gardening and horticulture were more than hobbies; they were passions. She loved all plants and trees, admired the quiet strength of nature, and found beauty in watching things grow under her care. Her hands were rarely idle – if she wasn’t tending to the earth, she was creating something new.

Crafty to her core, Trish could always be found starting a new project, learning a new skill, or finding a creative way to bring an idea to life. Her curiosity and creativity were boundless, and her determination unmatched.

She also had a lifelong love for Mopar cars. For Trish, nothing compared to the power of a Dodge – and everything else was simply just second best. That passion and belief reflected truly who she was: loyal, opinionated, and unapologetically herself.

Above all else, Trish fiercely loved her family. Her love was unwavering, protective, and unconditional – no matter what. She loved her grandchildren with her whole heart, finding her greatest joy in simply being present for their lives. You could always find her in the stands, cheering proudly at their games, or smiling as she watched them grow through sports and 4-H projects. Their achievements – big or small – meant everything to her, and she never missed a chance to show her support. Her love was steady, encouraging, and felt most clearly in the way she showed up every time. She showed up, stood strong, and cared deeply, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and resilience that will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish her memory include her fiancé Michael Chapman; daughters Elizabeth Barnett and Sarah Barnett, future step-son Payton Chapman; grandchildren: Owen Kuhn, Bryson Harris, Clara Kuhn, Raelynn Dearth, Eli Kuhn, and Asher Kuhn; mother Anne (Richard) Paysen; brothers Aric and Todd Nagel, sister Ashley (Adam) Nagel-Otterbein; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; best friends Gary Thomas and Jackie Landrum; four legged companion Joy as well as multiple beloved feline friends.

Trish was preceded in death by her father Timothy Nagel; paternal grandparents Mary Ann and Justice Nagel; maternal grandparents Charles McCool and Madge McCool.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 380 Keny Blvd, London, Ohio 43140. A memorial service will then begin at 2:00 PM with Vicar Jon Meister officiating.
