Suella A. Dowler, 82, of Dayton, died Friday, February 23, 2024, in Soin Medical Center, Beavercreek.
Born May 16, 1941, in West Virginia, she was a daughter of Fred Unger and Clara Jane (Brown) Unger.
Sue was the owner and operator of the former Dixie Drive-In of London. She currently attended the Be Hope Church of Beavercreek, but formerly attended St. Patrick Catholic Church while living in London. She worked hard both at work and at home, trying to make the best life possible for her family. Her pride and joy came from her grandchildren, and she enjoyed all the memories they were able to share.
She leaves behind two daughters: Angela Hamms and Annette (David) Jones; step-children Robin, April, and Jimmy; grandchildren Conner Hamms, Caitlin Hensley, and Jonathan Jones; great-grandson Jonathan Jones; brother John (Pi-fen) Ellwood; nieces and nephews Pepè, Felicia, Terri and Maria.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Art Ellwood, and beloved husband Steve Dowler in January of 2022.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, with Pastor Jim Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
