MINNER
Sue Ellen (Jones) Minner, age 88, of London, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in the Madison Senior Living Community.
Born on August 6, 1938, in London, Sue was a daughter of Norman Jones and Hortense (Shivler) Jones. For many years, Sue was a friendly and familiar face in the cafeteria of London City Schools, where her dedication and care for the students eventually led to her retirement as a food service coordinator. In addition to her time with the schools, she enjoyed working for years at The Madison Press, and she also proudly served the London community as a two-term member of the London City Council.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of London, Sue also lifted her voice in the church choir for decades, beginning in 1952. She also poured her heart into the church’s youth, serving as a pillar of Vacation Bible School from 1957 – 1987.
Above all her accomplishments and community roles, Sue’s greatest joy was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren fiercely and leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love for them.
Survivors include her children: Charles (Sandra) Minner, Amy Minner, Robert (Jennifer) Minner and Tom Minner; grandchildren Hannah (Emmanuel Akomeah), Sully (Kendra), Mackenzie, Colin (Madeleine), Jessie, Emily, Jack, Logan, Ethan and Robby; great grandchildren Sunny Mae and Levi; brother Cary “Bud” (Theresa) Jones, sisters Norma Dunkle and Carolyn Snell; sisters-in-law Margaret Sheets and Jean Laird Minner, brother-in-law Larry Harrison; several nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Hortense; husband Richard "Dick" Minner; sisters Cheré (Bill) Groves and Katherine Harrison; brothers-in-law Dick Dunkle, Dan Snell, Bill Sheets; in-laws William Minner, Thomas (Doris) Minner, Robert (Willie) Minner.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church of London, 52 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140.
