Steven "Steve" Wayne Virts, 67, of London, died unexpectedly on March 31, 2023, in OhioHealth Doctors Hospital, Columbus.

Born November 25, 1955, in Springfield, he was a son of George and Elizabeth (Inskeep) Virts.

Steve was a graduate of Northeastern High School. After high school he went on to work for Yellow Freight as well as a mobile mechanic in and around Madison County. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, and always enjoyed working on and driving derby cars in his free time.

He is survived by two sons Jeremy (Amanda Potter) Virts and Justin (Chelsey) Virts; long-time girlfriend Jane Nichols; grandchildren Olivia, Evan, Zayleigh, Lexi, Konner, Carter, Coldon, and Lincoln; three brothers Terry (Regina) Virts, Tom (Linda) Virts, Jim (Erma) Virts; a host of nieces and nephews; many, many good friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan McFann, and brother Bob Virts.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, April 6, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Mr. Nathan Sims officiating.
