Obituary

DAWSON

With profound sorrow and broken hearts, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Scotty Allen Zachary Dawson. Scotty passed on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Washington Court House, at the age of 22.

Born on December 11, 2003, in Doctors West Hospital, Scotty was a son of Sommar (Brown) and Scott Douglas Dawson. Known for his vibrant, bubbly personality, he had a rare ability to lift the energy of any room he walked into. He was the undisputed jokester of the family, always armed with a quick wit, an infectious laugh, and a relentless mission to make sure everyone around him was smiling.

Scotty’s greatest joy was simply spending quality time with his family and his close friends. Whether he was casting a line at his favorite fishing spot, getting lost in the world of video games, or enjoying his absolute favorite treats, a bag of Takis and a Tahitian Treat soda. Scotty also had a deep love for music, blasting an incredibly diverse playlist that spanned every genre of music imaginable, he was sure to do everything with enthusiasm.

He lived out loud, loved deeply, and left an undeniable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His laughter will echo in our hearts forever.

Left to cherish his memory include his mother Sommar (Christopher) Slone and father Scott (Candi Bullis) Dawson; siblings: Mateo Carmona, Luis Carmona, Brantlee Dawson, and Leighton Dawson; girlfriend Keeona Ramirez; grandparents: Patrick and Linda Michael, Bonnie Caudill (Andrew Majestic), Ron (Dee) Dawson, and Darryl Brown; aunts and uncles: Amy Dawson, Rahmel McClendon, Kelly Brown, Charlie Gatton, Zachary Brown Sr. (Lexi Bennett), Tanya Skaggs, Jason Batton, Allen (Dawn) Dawson, and Kyler (Sarah) Dawson. Scotty is also survived by several cousins including those that were especially close to him: Kyle (Lilly) Brown, Zachary (Sadie) Brown Jr., Hayden Knapp, and Jerezmay Williams; dear friends Kody Mason, Terrance Russell, Marquise Montgomery, and Nathan Barnhart; beloved four-legged companion Angel; plus many extended family and friends too numerous to list but definitely not forgotten.

Scotty was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; Ethel and Fredy Jeffers, Richard “Dick” and Garnett Dawson, and Louise and Bernard Brown.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM in REVIVE BAPTIST CHURCH, 2245 State Route 42, London, Ohio 43140. Funeral services will commence at the church at 4:00 PM with Pastor Anthony Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery.
