VON ALMEN
Roy Homer Von Almen, Jr., age 77 of London, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026, in the Bluebird Retirement Community.
Born on August 24, 1948, in Canton, Ohio, he was a son of Roy Homer Von Almen, Sr. and Wilmadine (Howard) Von Almen. A proud patriot, Roy honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, instilling in him a lifelong sense of duty, resilience, and pride. Following his military service, Roy built a long, successful career in industrial tire sales with Ziegler Tire.
During his years living in Florida, he found a warm faith community as an active member of New Walk Church in Zephyrhills. Roy lived life with a simple, genuine enthusiasm for the things that brought him joy. An absolute lover of all animals, he never met a creature he didn’t care for. He was always happiest outdoors – whether he was working in the yard, visiting a beach, or setting sail on a cruise. At home, you could often find him listening to his favorite music or shuffling a deck of cards for a (not so) friendly game.
Left to cherish his memory include his children: Roy Von Almen III, Denise (Scott) Simmons, Jennifer (Jason) Sauer, Stephanie Milbery, Traci (Darren) Debo, Bethanie (Andy) Gossard, Konnie Woods, Doug Dendinger; cousin Cheryl (Harold) Culp; grandchildren: Jake and Noah Parks, Maggie and Abby Milbery, Faith and Alex Butch, Roxie and Ruby Gossard, Austin Dendinger, Corbin and Jett Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Sr. and Wilmadine, and his beloved wife Sharon Von Almen.
Private services will be held at the convenience of Roy’s family.
His family extends a heartfelt special thank you to the dedicated staff of the Bluebird Retirement Community for the extraordinary care, comfort, and compassion they provided during Roy’s final chapter. His warmth, easygoing spirit, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
To support his love of animals, memorials in Roy’s name may be sent to benefit the Madison County Humane Society, 2020 State Route 142 NE, West Jefferson, Ohio 43162.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, where condolences for the family may be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
