Obituary

MARKLEY Rosemary Anita (VanScoy) Markley, 86, passed on to her heavenly home on Friday, September 16, 2016. She was born, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lucille (Karg) VanScoy on May 25, 1930. She graduated from New Moorefield High School, Class of 1948. Rosemary immediately started working at Crowell Collier and worked there until October 1953 when she started her family. She is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years Harold "Ted" Markley of South Vienna, daughter Rosalee Markley of Springfield and her son James T. and Lana Markley of West Jefferson. She was preceded in death by a son Gregory in 1957. She is also survived by her brother Wesley and Barbara VanScoy of Larue and her sister Ladonna and Stanley Bailey of Springfield. Also surviving are four grandchildren Amanda Glancy, Jacob, Holly and Daniel Markley and three great-grandchildren Gabriella "Terra", Isabella and Gwendolyn Glancy and many special cousins, nieces, nephews and one very special uncle Warren VanScoy of Urbana. Also preceding her in death were two brothers Richard and Ronnie VanScoy. osemary was a very genuine and compassionate person. When she asked "How are you", she really wanted to know. She grew up in Bowlusville, OH on County Line Road, a short distance from her grandparents Landis and Mamie Karg's farm and cherished the wonderful times she enjoyed at their home. Rosemary loved to travel and especially enjoyed spending the winter months on St. Simon's Island, GA where she made may friends from numerous states and kept in touch with them throughout the years. She was also very active serving on various committees at the Clark County Fair for many years. She was a member of the South Solon Christian Union Church where she attended for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday. The family suggests memorials be made to the Bowlusville United Methodist Church, 445 W. County Line Rd, Springfield, OH 45502.
