PAYNE

Ronald Edward Payne, age 72, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, in London, Ohio.

Born on October 8, 1953, in Owensboro, Kentucky, he was a son of Clyde Edward Payne and Ruby Louise (Hanks) Payne. Ronald served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and later worked in manufacturing for the former Dana Inc. in Lima, Ohio, for Phelps Dodge in New Haven, Indiana, and for Zollner Pistons in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

He is survived by five children: Recia Lynn Strickland, Thomas Eugene Payne, Brian Joseph Payne, David Allen Gibson, and Scott Allen Gibson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Anna (Jim) Burton and Kathy (Jack) Burton; several nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Ruby; son Allen Edward Payne; brother Danny Payne and sister Debbie DeWitt.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family.
