BURNS

Robert Michael "Robbie" Burns Jr., age 48, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11:45 AM in the Laurels of West Columbus, following a valiantly fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Robbie was born on November 23, 1976, at Wilson Memorial in Sidney, Ohio, and was a beloved son of Robert Michael Burns Sr. and Kathy Sue (Wagner) Hardwick.

Robbie was proud to work as a corrections officer for Pickaway Correctional Institution in Orient, a job he looked forward to each and every day. He also worked as a parts delivery driver for O'Reilly Auto Parts where he formed special bonds with his coworkers who quickly became like family. With a creative eye for photography, Robbie was proud to pursue this passion and be able to create his own photography brand, H&S Photography.

Always on the move, Robbie enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities with his dog Sammy, but he also enjoyed the calm down of a day spent watching NASCAR. He found enjoyment visiting thrift stores with his wife Shannon, where he had a special talent for finding a great deal! Days spent with his family were always the best regardless of what trouble they would find their way into. He especially cherished time with his children who meant the world to him. Although his time on earth was much too short, we will fondly remember his joyous spirit and the unconditional love he was sure to share with his family during the 48 years we were blessed to share with him.

Robbie leaves behind his adoring wife of 25 years Shannon (Shaeffer) Burns; children: Lindsey (David) Caceres, Cameron Burns, and Mollie Burns; grandson Atreus Bowie Caceres; father Robert Burns Sr. (Jeni Catanach); stepmother Gretchen Burns; siblings Jarret (Brittany) Hardwick and Chrissy Hardwick; sister-in-law Sherri Shaeffer (James Adams); a stepbrother Nathan and stepsister Stephanie; nieces and nephews Malachi Hardwick, Ruby Graffice, Maylee Graffice, Allison Dirmeyer, and Kylee Sweat; aunt Lori (Brian) Burns-Derwent, uncles Tom (Nancy) Burns and Don Rumpfs; several cousins including special cousins Jonathan (Natalie) Rumpfs, Brice Rumpfs, and Zane Rumpfs; numerous close friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Hardwick paternal grandparents Robert and Ginny Burns, maternal grandparents Harry and Elizabeth Wagner, aunt Joyce Burns-Caudill, as well as many other loving family members who undoubtedly received Robbie with open arms.

Cremation will take place in accordance with Robbie's wishes. Robbie's family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the ADAMS FUNERAL HOME, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio 45365. A celebration of his life will commence at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place Monday, August 11, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio
