Robert "Bobbie" Eugene Murry, 87, of London died Thursday, November 20, 2014 in his home. Born January 22, 1927 in Plumwood, he was the oldest son of Ralph Murry and Bernice Leach Murry. He was a long time resident of Madison County, owner of Murry & Edwards Marathon and a cattle dealer for many years. Until his death, he worked auction days at Tri-Green for several years. Robert was a graduate of London High School and a member of the Future Farmers of America. He enlisted in the Army, October 31, 1945 at the end of World War II. He served in the Philippines and Japan where he assisted with reconstruction efforts. He played on several local baseball and basketball teams. He was married to Dorothy Ann (Dunkle) Murry in 1958. He was an active member of the local community, supporting the 4-H livestock sales at the Madison County Fair. He showed many "Grand-Champion" pens of cattle at the Ohio State Fair and a member of the Newport United Methodist Church. Survivors include sons Andrew (David Dagg) Murry of Lancaster, Scott (Lori Wright) Murry of London, daughter Heidi (Scott) Weissenfluh and grandsons James Reese and Ryan Robert of Centerburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother Donald Murry and sister Anne Lambert. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 24, 2014 in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday.
