McCOMBS

Robert L. McCombs, 81, of South Vienna, died Monday, September 13, 2021, in The Ohio State University Hospital.

Born October 17, 1939, in Pickaway County; he was a son of Gaspard and Ethel (Carpenter) McCombs.

A US Army veteran of Vietnam, Robert retired from Navistar after 31 ½ years as a committeeman. A member of Madison Memorial Post #105, American Legion and Madison County Farm Bureau, he loved spending time with his family and the casino!

Survivors include his wife of almost 59 years Darla (King); children Cindy Clifton, Bobby (Paula) McCombs, Jeff (Valerie) McCombs and Dianne (Preston) Basham; grandchildren Robert (fiancée' Heather), Cory (Alexa), Logan, Harley (fiancée' Cole), Remley, Wendy (Matt) and Katie; six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several in laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gilbert and John, sisters Edith and Wyonna, son in law Jim Clifton and nephew Doug Lambert.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 17, 2021, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Ed Banion officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery, London. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 PM Thursday.
