IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Lewis
Lucas And Bonnie Diane (Weaver) Lucas
LUCAS
It is with great sadness that we announce the interment of Mr. Robert Lewis Lucas who passed on August 13, 2020, and Mrs. Bonnie Diane Lucas who passed on December 27, 2014, both of Citrus Heights, California.
They married August 13, 1977, at the Hitching Post, in Las Vegas.
Robert was born June 28, 1943, in Ohio, he was the son of Walter and Rachel Lucas. After high school Robert found his calling when he joined the U.S. Air Force and went on to serve his country for 28 years. Throughout his honorable service, he earned several decorations, including two bronze stars, numerous medals with accumulative of 10 bronze oak leaf clusters, one silver oak leaf cluster, a Republic of Vietnam gallantry cross with palm device in addition to many more ribbons. Robert retired from the department of defense in August 1987 as a senior master sergeant.
Bonnie was born June 1, 1950, in Illinois and was the daughter of Harold and Fay Weaver. After college, she worked professionally as an accountant, which was the beginning of her career in financing.
After retirement from the military, both Bob and Bonnie dabbled in vending machine placement and then later decided to open their own business. They not only placed the machines, but they would repair them as well. It was definitely a team effort. Robert worked on the machines and Bonnie would take care of the books and the office. Their loyal black lab, Dakota, would come to work with them and greet customers and friends that came in the door, when he wasn't napping, of course.
Once the business started slowing down and overhead sold off, they moved out of a commercial building and continued to work out of their home. This is where Dakota said his goodbye.
Prior to and during the early retirement years, Robert enjoyed working on his classic cars which included his beloved 1941 Chevy deluxe 3 door. In addition to spending time with family & her new dog, Yoda, Bonnie enjoyed crafting, upgrading the home and had impeccable taste for color when it came to decorating or painting.
Bob and Bonnie are both currently survived by Bob's children Pamela Yontz (Donald), Theresa Lucas, Michelle Lucas and Robin Armstrong(Brad); Bonus son, Tim Smith(Kathy), Bonnie's brother Leon Weaver (Lana), Bob's sister Delores Ferguson; nephew Patrick Ferguson (Jeannie), Michael Chitwood, Bob Baum; nieces Kimberly Judy & Brandi King(Jim), Dee Marcum; 8 grandchildren: Amy O'Neil, Nicholas Agorastos III, Heidi Ketelaar, Amber Agorostos, Megan Agorastos, Thomas Armstrong, Brandon Armstrong, Courtney Delie; several great grandchildren, Bob's best friend, Jack Nicely(Carol) and Bonnie's best friend, Cindy Gammon.
