LEMING
Robert Ray Leming, age 67, of London, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in his residence. Affectionately known as “Big Bob” to his family and friends, he had a larger-than-life presence in every room he entered.
Born on August 12, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio, Bob was a son of Robert Raymond Leming and Mary Mimaleen (DeBoard) Fugate. A true master of all trades, Bob spent his life working across construction, mechanics, and aviation. If it rattled, leaked, or refused to start, Bob had the fix. Family and friends knew the unwritten rule: if Bob couldn’t fix it, it simply couldn’t be fixed.
When he wasn’t turning a wrench, Bob liked his music loud. He was a huge rock fan, cranking up his favorites, Rush and Iron Maiden, every chance he got. Bob played trumpet back in his younger days, but later in life, he enjoyed strumming the bass guitar. On Sunday afternoons, you could count on him to be planted in front of the TV watching NASCAR, taking in the races with a cold drink nearby.
Bob possessed a wickedly warped sense of humor and was always cracking jokes, rarely leaving a room without making someone laugh. He was fiercely loyal to those he cared about and genuinely never met a stranger – to Bob, everyone was a friend he just hadn’t joked with yet. While he famously loved his dogs more than most humans, his heart belonged entirely to his grandchildren, who were the absolute pride and joy of his life.
Bob’s presence, humor, and endless one-of-a-kind personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Leming, mother and stepfather Mary and Paul Fugate, sister Debra Leming, numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bob is survived by his children: Robert “Bobby” (June) Leming, Danielle Leming, Mark (Ashley) Leming, Jessie (Josh) Patterson, Christian Leming, and Debra (Tommy Hughes) Leming; grandchildren: Rachael (Dustin) Gordon, Jasiah (Dalyla) Gordon, Hayla Greathouse, Addison, Alex, and Anderson Patterson, Kiyah Leming, Bobby Ray, Gracie Bell, Raelynn Leming, Markus Long, Kristopher Miller II (and his mother, Lyda Dunn); great-grandchildren Holden Batsche, Kris Gordon, and Oaklee Long. He will be forever missed by his lifelong bestie and confidant, Lisa Bunch; sister Sherry (Dwight) Fisher, brother Mark (Karen) Fugate, sister Misty (Ryan) Suhre; nephews Michael (Jennifer) Gavin and Steven (Bethany) Caldwell; great-niece Elizabeth Gavin, great-nephew Mason Gavin; several cousins; a host of very dear friends.
Cremation will take place in accordance with Bob’s wishes, and a celebration of his life will be announced in the near future.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, where condolences for the family may be shared at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
