Robert "Bobby" Dean
Dorn
Mar 22, 1954 — Oct 26, 2026
London
Robert Dean Dorn (aka Bobby/BD) age 72, died on Monday, October 26, 2026, peacefully at his home, exactly where he wanted to be. He had put up a great fight from November 2022 from stage 4 cancer until his stroke in May of 2025 which paralyzed him on his entire left side.
He continued to battle but God called him to heaven to be at peace in a new body and to have no more pain.
Bobby was a 1972 graduate of Madison Plains where he excelled in sports.
After graduation he was honored with a scholarship for basketball and one for baseball at Martin University in Tennessee. During Christmas break he unfortunately had a farming accident which ended any hopes of furthering his career in sports.
Bobby was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 22, 1954, to Robert Clark and Alma Juanita Dorn. He retired from LOCI after 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Wesley Eric Dorn who went to meet the Lord on April 22, 2023, Uncle Bud & Avis Dorn and their daughter Jody, sister Karen (Kenny) Lindsey, nephew Jeffrey Stoughton.
Bobby was an avid lover of sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes. His greatest joy was watching his grandchildren, Emma, Everett, Evan and Elley play sports. He had just attended Elley’s volleyball game at Madison Plains approximately a month ago.
He played softball for many years with dear friends, Phil (Cathy) Jordan, Tim (Lisa) Hill, Mike (Eva) Terry, and Robert (Brenda) Cameron. Their friendships endured his entire life. He had wonderful friends from work that visited him several weeks before his death: Terry Sattler, Doug South, Larry Brickles, Richard Sockman, and Jessie Frisbee. Some of his last non-family visitors included Mike Ripley (aka Fuzz) and Robbie Geesling.
Bobby is survived by Wesley’s four children: Emma, Everett, Evan, and Elley and Wesley’s mother, Terri (Henry) Dorn; his four sisters: Sandy (Lynn) Stoughton, Cindy (Chris) Mace, Nita (Dana) Hughes, and Rhonda Waddle; Nathan (Natalie) Dorn, and their children: Jozie, Rider, and Quinn; Uncle Jack (Anne) Knisley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He greatly appreciated his nephew Kevin Lindsey for his hard work in the yard, and Bobby also enjoyed watching OSU football games together with him. He also appreciated his nephew Clay Mace and his son Paint, who helped with many things that needed to be done around the property. Clay had always been more like a brother to Bobby’s son, Wesley.
Per Bobby’s wishes, cremation will take place without services. Bobby and his son Wesley will be entombed in a memorial monument at Paint Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, any contributions in Bobby’s name can be made to benefit the American Cancer Society online at www.cancer.org.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Transitions Care Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion shown to Bobby during his final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140, where condolences for the family may be shared online at www.eberlefisherfuneralhome.com.
