BATEMAN Robert Bateman, he was a loving Husband, Father, Grand Father and a great man just all together. He was so loving and caring and had a huge heart he believed that GOD was gonna come and take care of everybody he loved the lord he loved his friends, family, and his church DaySpring. Bob was huge jokester loved to make someone smile with the things he said was always there for everybody. He is survived by his wife Rosemary (Pruitt) Bateman of 49 years he was a loving and dedicated husband to her. Also surviving by his two daughters Rosemarie Emerson and Bobbiesue Bateman that he loved very much and would do anything for; granddaughters Tiera, Krista, LaTisha, Jenia, and Mariah that he help take care of and loved them also very much; his great grand children also that put a smile on his face no matter what A'Marianna, Kaden, A'Lijah, Juilus, Colten, Landen, A'Liyah, and Clayton; his brothers Tom (Jenny) Bateman of Columbus, Howard "Sunny" (Barbara) Bateman of West Jefferson and Larry (Dixie) Bateman of Big Plain, several nieces and nephews; brothers in law Buford Pruitt of West Jefferson and Lloyd Pruitt of London; sister in law Diane (Steve) Ford of Florida, and we can't forget about Pretty he loved that dog like she was his grandchild as he would say. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell Bateman and sisters Betty Hunter and Margie Bateman. Bob was born June 28, 1945 in West Jefferson, a son of John and Rose (Baird) Bateman and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 13, 2013 in Doctors Hospital, Columbus. He had retired from the Cardinal Foods Warehouse in Columbus. Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM Monday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St, London were Pastor Earl Shaffer officiated. Interment followed in Dennison Chapel Cemetery, Big Plain. Friends call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 PM.
