With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Rita Jane (Paul) Ricketts, age 83, who passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, in London Health and Rehabilitation. A woman defined by kindness, generosity, and a lifelong devotion to helping others, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born with a gentle spirit and unwavering work ethic, Rita spent many dedicated years at the Sears Distribution Center where her reliability and warmth made her not only a valued colleague, but a cherished friend to many.

Her true joy, however, was found in service. After retirement, Rita continued to give her time and heart to her community through volunteering at Madison Health Hospital, the Madison County Senior Center, and the Madison House Senior Living Community. Wherever she went, she brought comfort, laughter, and an open heart – always willing to listen, to help, and to make someone's day a little brighter.

Rita loved being involved, staying active, and connecting with those around her. Her deep belief in supporting others shaped her life and continues to inspire all who knew her. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen and valued, and her gentle guidance and loving presence will be remembered forever.

She is survived by her son John Ricketts of Jackson; sister Deanna Bartholomew of Columbus and brother James Paul of Marysville; nieces Rhonda (Luke) Edwards and Elaine (Todd) Johnson. Rita was preceded in death by her parents James Lee Paul and Helen Lucille (Hoisington) Paul; daughter-in-law Crystal Ricketts; brother Robert Paul.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A memorial service will then commence at 1:00 PM with Reverend Jim Blankenship officiating, and interment will follow in Galloway Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rita's name may be sent to benefit the Madison Health Foundation, 210 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140.
