GEORGE
Richard D. George, Sr., 77, of Grove City, died Saturday, August 3, 2024, in the Kobacker House, Columbus.
Born March 4, 1947, in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, he was a son of Herman George and Mary (Tatman) George.
Following high school, Richard served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he took up his first and arguably favorite career in farming where he enjoyed the best of both worlds, spending time outdoors and listening to 90's country music. A multitalented man who was good with his hands, Richard also made a name for himself as a skilled mechanic who was never afraid of a challenge. If you ask Richard his favorite season, the answer was always deer season in which he soaked up every minute possible out on the hunt.
Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of 28 years, Kathy George; daughters Sheila (Bruce) Russell and Becky Hickle, sons Richard "Richie" (Amy) George, Jr., Brian (Sophia) Nontell, and Johny Masters; grandchildren Zoey, Brad, Kelsey, Selina, Josh, Megan, Joshua, Justin, Jordan, Kierra, Jamison, Jaden, Hunter, and Crystal; 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Nicole Mitchell, and sons Joshua Mitchell and Freddie Jeffers
