ANDERSON Richard W. Anderson 81, of West Jefferson, died Sunday, November 10, 2013 in his residence. Born Nov 8, 1932 in Elkhart, Indiana; he was the son of Carl and Anna Marie Anderson. An engineer at heart Richard had a love for all things mechanical, the outdoors, fishing, flannel shirts, baseball hats, and especially his family. For many years he was employed as a design engineer with North American Aviation, then the Sutphen Corporation and Janitrol Aero. Most recently he was a consultant for Mauck Special Vehicles. He was a loving husband for over 30 years to Kay (Kollister) Anderson. He was the best father and friend to his children Michael Anderson, Holly (Luke) Hayden, Robert Anderson, Lori (John) Grillot and Rae Ann (Jim) Dotson; stepsons Tracy (Leslie) Hammer and Don Hammer; grandchildren Daniel, Luke, Emily, Nicole and Abby; several great grandchildren. Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY from 1-4 pm on Thursday with funeral services beginning at 4:00 PM. Per Richard's request, cremation will follow.
