Obituary

TOOMEY

Paul Charles Toomey, 57, of London, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his family. He was born December 7, 1968 in Erie, PA and was a 1987 graduate of General McLane High School in Edinboro, PA.

Paul is survived by his children: Paul Toomey Jr., Ava Burton, Natalie Burton, and Ayla Easterday; grandchildren: Madison, Alexander, Annistyn, Ayleah, Sophia and Seth; siblings: Michael (Marsha) Toomey, Melissa (Richard) Baker, and Lisa (Michael) Kendall; devoted father and best friend, John Cimino; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many lifelong friends, including his dear friend Ernie Sparks, with whom he shared a 35-year friendship.

Paul was a passionate and skilled woodworker, who found joy in building and designing custom projects, from bookshelves to cabinetry and more. Among his many accomplishments, he was especially proud of crafting the front doors of the First United Methodist Church of London. Alongside his love for woodworking, Paul held a deep appreciation for historic homes, often drawn to their unique character and craftsmanship.

A lifelong and devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Paul proudly wore his black and gold and never missed a game. Watching the Steelers play was more than a pastime - it was a cherished tradition and a source of joy he loved sharing with friends and family.

Paul embraced the outdoors in his younger years, spending his time skiing snowy slopes, riding his motorcycle on open-road adventures, and floating down the river while soaking in the summer heat.

Above all else, Paul was deeply proud of his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. One of a kind in every sense, Paul leaves an irreplaceable space in the hearts of many.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah (Wegelin) Cimino with whom he had a very special bond; biological father, Ronald Toomey; grandparents, Clarence and Charlene (Alexander) Wegelin.

Private cremation services have been entrusted to Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Paul on March 7, 2026, from 1pm-4pm at Union Township Hall, 2250 ST RT 56, London, Ohio 43140.
