RAREY
Paul James Rarey was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather enthusiastically dedicated to his family every day of his 87 years. He passed peacefully November 3rd, 2025, surrounded by the family he gave so much joy to.
With a fascination for planes, it was an easy choice to join the Air Force/Air National Guard. He loved serving as an aircraft mechanic, with active-duty stints in South Korea, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and more. He shared his adoration of the skies with friends and family, often taking them up for rides in his Cessna and letting them take the wheel. Paul retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 33 years. He was well respected on base at Rickenbacker and visited often even after his retirement.
He married his first wife, Rosealee Larabee, in 1958 and started his own family with daughters Kathy and Vicki. Rosealee passed away at the early age of 36. Paul then married Sherry Evans and the two cemented their families as a solid unit, based from the strong love and commitment they shared with one another all the way until Sherry's unexpected death in 2016.
Paul J. Rarey is predeceased by his parents Luther and Margaret (Stebelton) Rarey, loving wives Rosealee (Larabee) Rarey and Sherry (Evans) Rarey, daughter Linda Kay Beam, son Ronald Beam, siblings Art Rarey, Carol (Rarey) Neal and Donald Rarey, and great grandchildren Landon Cordle and Mia Large. He is survived by siblings, Geneva Williams and Harold (Becky) Rarey, his adoring daughters Kathy (Fred) Boerner and Vicki (Terry) Cordle, as well as grandchildren Kyle Roehrenbeck, Donald Doss, Jennefer Meyers, Alyssa Roehrenbeck, Jeremy Beam, Rikki Roehrenbeck, Jessica Beam, Amber McDermott, Odessa Ulinski, Tina Delong, John Cordle and Stacy White. He is also loved by 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 23rd from 12-4pm at the Paddock Pub in Groveport, a place dear to the Rarey name.
