BROWNING

Paul E. Browning, Jr., 84, of Toledo, formerly of Washington Court House, died Sunday, July 2, 2023, in his residence. On June 30, 2023, while conversing with Brenda, Paul left a powerful testimony behind. He assured her that her current health issues were going to be ok; because while praying for her, he told her he felt a peaceful and calming presence had overcome him. Paul said, "Brenda, even though I've been to the alter before, I believe God really saved me today. I'm just so calm." The following evening while praying before bed, Paul was overheard telling God "I'm just so tired, I'm ready to come home." On the morning of July 2, 2023, God answered his prayer. Paul went to sleep and woke up in Jesus' arms.

Born February 8, 1939, in Dayton, he was the son of the late Mildred (Kessler) and Paul E. Browning, Sr. Paul retired from the Ford Motor Company after 30 years as a salvage repair welder. A member of the Catawba Christian Church and UAW, Local #387; he enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching the Cleveland Browns and The OSU Buckeyes, but mostly he loved his family.

He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Brenda (Burkitt) Browning, daughter Elise Browning, special nieces Donna Jo Hurl, Bev Goodson, Cherie Anders and Darla Colwell along with many other very dear nieces, nephews and friends and his cousin Kent Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Jean Middleton and his in-laws E.B. and Leona (Boldman) Burkitt.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 8, 2023, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London, Ohio with Pastor Steve Evans and Reverend J.D. Massengill officiating. Interment will follow in Highlawn Cemetery, Washington Court House. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 PM Friday.
