Obituary

SEXTON Patty B. Sexton, 81, of London died peacefully Friday, February 1, 2019 in her residence, surrounded by her family. Born September 26, 1937 in London; she was a daughter of Otis and Myrtle (Junk) Barker. Patty was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and had volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She devoted her life to taking care of others. Survivors include her children Cindy (Perry) Shoemaker of Cable, Peggy Weaver of Nathalie, VA, Joe (Hope) Sexton, Judy (Jim) Wilson, Kay (Bobby) Sifrit, Ramona Sheehy all of London and son in law Jason Sheehy; grandchildren, Justin (Suzie) Shoemaker, Jill (Aaron) O'Neal, Amy (Cam) Winters, Mason (Amber) Shoemaker, Jacob Shoemaker, Caty (Sam McGill) Shoemaker, Eric (Dagen) Weaver, Megan (Matt) Moorefield, Derrick Campbell, Lauren Holland, Chelsea (Ron Cain) Sifrit, Cole (Lindsey) Sifrit, Bryan Wilson, and Lizzy (Beth Schmidt) Wilson;16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Tim Barker, Kim Barker and Kelly Talbott; several cousins including special cousins David Junk and Barbara Jane Patton; dear friend Joanne Wiseman and neighbors at Hyde Park; sisters in law Dorothy Henry, Frances Murphy, Evelyn Sexton; brothers in law Jerome Ortleib and Bill Duffy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles in 1997; twin sister Peggy Barker and brother Richard Barker. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Michael Hinterschied officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Parish Center from 4-8 PM Tuesday, with a vigil service being observed at 7:30 PM.
