Patricia Ann (Brake) Gibson, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026. She was born on January 3, 1931, in Summerford, Ohio, to Donald W. and Anna Ellen (Gist) Brake. She grew up in Summerford before marrying, raising her family, and building her life in London, Ohio.
Patty was a longtime and devoted member of the United Methodist Church. Her faith, kindness, and steady presence shaped every chapter of her life. To her family and to anyone who knew her, she was simply “Nana”—a title she cherished and lived out with joy. Some of her happiest memories were made with her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her children Ann Beathard (Tim) and Keith Turvy; her grandchildren Jessica Spangler, Chelsea Antle (Zak), Todd Beathard, Scott Marshall (Misty), and Travis Turvy (Kenzie); and her great‑grandchildren Wyatt and Levi Spangler, Ryan and Tyler Antle, Chase and Kason Beathard, Addison Marshall, and Landon Turvy. She is also survived by her sister Candy Brake Randles, sister‑in‑law Nancy Brake, and dear friend Carol Hamilton.
Patty is additionally survived by the beautiful family of her late husband, Oscar Gibson — including his children Shirley Adelsberger (Bob) and daughter‑in‑law JoEllen Gibson, along with their children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Oscar Gibson; brothers Don and Bob; step‑son Ron Gibson; and daughter‑in‑law Debbie Turvy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 11:00 AM at Lafayette United Methodist Church, 1615 Cumberland Street, London, Ohio 43140, with Pastor Jackson Moody officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
