PETERS

Norman Dale Peters, 82, of London, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Born April 9, 1941, in Lafayette, Ohio, he was a son of Raymond Peters and Josephine (Harkless) Peters.

Dale was a graduate of London High School. He started his career as a truck driver for the former Wilson Freight and worked until retirement in 1998 from RoadWay. Dale belonged to the Springfield F.O.E. Aerie #397, Teamsters Local #413, and the former Springfield Moose Lodge. While spending time inside, he liked watching NASCAR races; however, being the outdoorsman that he was, he enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, waterskiing, and anything involving the beach. Dale and his wife Bev also loved the time they were able to spend at their second home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where they made many close friends.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 62 years Beverly (Boyd) Peters; daughters Marsha Moore, Melinda (Tim) Newsome, and Amber (Thomas) Jicha; grandchildren Matthew Moore, Michelle Moore, Nathan (Ashley) Moore, Christine (David) Stewart, Justin (April) Newsome, Abbie Jason, Tony Jason Jr., Ayden Jason, DJ VanDine, Olivia VanDine, Anson VanDine; great-grandchildren Taylor Wright, Kynlee Hargrove, Myah Williams, Cayden Moore, Blake Moore, Elliott Moore, Parker Stewart, Dylan Stewart, Sophia Newsome, Willow Newsome, Atlas Newsome; sisters Nancy Doty and Beverly (Bobby Joe) Turvy; many nieces and nephews; in-laws Gary Butz, Bob (Jean) Boyd, Ronnie Boyd, Tom (Larraine) Boyd, Sandy Taylor, Mary Jo Boyd; favorite four-legged companion Bella.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Amy Jason; grandson Archer Jason; brother Charles (June) Peters and sister Margie Butz; brothers-in-law Norman Doty, Donnie Boyd; sister-in-law Susan Boyd.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 North Main Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 12 Noon with Pastor Keith Sarver officiating. Interment will follow in Deercreek Township Cemetery, Lafayette.
