HUNTER Nellie Louise Hunter, 88, of London passed away peacefully on January 10, 2019 in Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She was born December 20, 1930, a daughter of James and Nancy Ellen (Johnson) Coughlin. Nellie was a long time cook for Madison Rural School before working and retiring as food service manager at Madison Correctional Institution. She was a faithful member of the Newport United Methodist Church, was a past 4-H advisor for Speedy Spurs, was a lover of all animals, especially horses and dogs. She will long be remembered for her loyalty and personality. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Sisters on Elm for their comfort and caring for Nellie. Also thank you to the many friends who visited and sent cards to Nellie during her stay at Sisters. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband K.R. Hunter and daughter in law Pamela Hunter. Survivors include her son Jim Hunter (Lisa Daniels), daughter Joretta Hunter (Pat McNaughton); granddaughters Jacqueline (Dave) Bolin, Jennifer (Tim) Little and Jill Hunter; niece Sue (Don) Woodland, cousin and best friend Janet Orndorf; great-grandchildren Linson and Kinsley Bolin, Jordan Reece, Evan and Addison Plantz and Ian Bradshaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Pastor Jeff Smalley officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-6 PM Sunday. The family suggests memorials be made to Life Care Alliance/Meals on Wheels.
